OK, this goes back a bunch of years (roughly 1996 - 2003), but there was a time when we were primarily CD-ROM developers, and we created some really wonderful (and even award-winning) CD-ROM titles!
AmChoice & AmChoice Plus CD-ROM. This title was developed to support traditional classroom-based training; learners would receive their training at regional classroom facilities, then be given the CD-ROM as a way to follow-up and review the associated materials. This original training CD-ROM eventually launched an Internet version and went on to win a national Gold Award at the Greater Wisconsin MCAI (Media Communications Association International) Cameo Fest 14 awards festival (held in Marshfield, WI on 4 May 2001) and the international "Silver Reel" award at the 33rd Annual Festival of Awards in Media Excellence (AiME awards) competition conducted by the Media Communications Association International a few months later.
Ascend to Success CD-ROM. This CD-ROM introduces the client company to new and prospective independent contractors, covering such topics as product knowledge, agency growth and marketing plans. The CD-ROM also contains a comprehensive diversity of tools, forms, and multimedia-assisted help and guidance components, such as a video-based "Tip Viewer" that displays short video clips of actual contractors passing along their own knowledge and expertise. This title is a perfect example of a training CD-ROM, encompassing text, graphics, background audio and dozens of QuickTime-driven video clips.
Media Trek CD-ROM.™ Completed for Demco Media in 1998, this innovative CD-ROM was marketed nationwide to teachers of kids grades 4-6. Essentially a reading comprehension program, Media Trek went beyond assessment to actually help kids understand key concepts so they would better understand and appreciate literature in general. The program also offered teachers analytical assessment of each student’s progress, focusing in on problem areas so children could be better helped as well.
Wizard Reborn MediaNovel® CD-ROM. This unique CD-ROM title—developed entirely by ourselves over several years—combines a full 125,000 word literary novel with relevant graphics, music, audio and even video to deliver a truly inspirational and interactive text-based/multimedia-enhanced experience. Compatible with Macintoshes as well as PCs, the title was originally developed from 1994 through 1999, then redeveloped during the summer of 2001 (using Authorware as the multimedia development tool). The novel is also set to a motion-picture quality musical score, contains hundreds of relevant audio clips, and even features 14 musical tracks that display a "slideshow" of images as well, telling the story from a music-based perspective.
