While all organizations need at least a website, some businesses must go beyond the traditional and ask for a custom site with specific, perhaps unique functionality. For example, when a Milwaukee, WI-based talent agency came to us years ago with the desire to build a custom online talent management system, we created a web-based application that not only acted as the client’s official website but also provided functionality that allows producers to review and select talent online via a sophisticated multimedia-based system. The code required for such functionality did not already exist, so we had to build a database-driven content management system from scratch, designed and developed exclusively with the needs of my client in mind.
